The Catalog product, an advertising concept focusd on scrollable navigation, was offered by our internal creative team and it was rolling out to the Microsoft field. $5M in sales were projected.
With a pipeline of that size, we couldn't effectively build all of the possible ads in the timeframes they were expecting. I engaged a third-party development vendor to create an app and a template based on the Catalog that would shift the work from fully-custom to semi-custom, with clear specifications that client creative agencies could follow.
The results were a toolkit that allowed sales to push forward with their advertising pipeline while ensuring development could handle the capacity.
As lead PM on this project, I negotiated the initial schedule, features, and design with an internal design team, engaged a third-party development vendor to produce the work, and then oversaw its development through a PM who managed the day-to-day development scrums for this 2-month project.
