GM was looking for a fresh way to engage its user base, and turned to Yarn for a custom advertisement. The solution we provided was a product called Catalog, which had originally been developed with Nordstrom in mind. A reusable version of this product was also created in the project called Catalog Proof of Concept.
The catalog format is a visually interesting way to display mundane content such as videos and still imagery, and it fit particularly well with the campaign imagery from OnStar.
Role
As lead PM on this project, I negotiated the initial schedule, features, and design with an internal design team, and then oversaw its development through a PM who managed the day-to-day development scrums for this 1-month project.
Success Metrics
The OnStar custom Windows 8 campaign is currently running in a targeted region. It is too early for tracking and success metrics to be available.
